Pregnancy Care

Here are some common guidelines to take optimum care of the baby and the mother:

Posture

Although, there is no specific posture suggested to a pregnant woman, there are a few tips to avoid any unwelcoming instance.

1.      A pregnant woman should stand straight while applying equal weight on both the legs. Also, while getting up from the bed, first she should roll on to the sides and use arms to get a grip to get up from the bed.

2.      Lifting heavy things during pregnancy is not allowed; if you have to lift an object, you should not bend but kneel down and then lift the thing up, while keeping the object close to the body.

Diet

1.      Eat a balanced diet during pregnancy or the diet suggested by the doctor or health care provider. Try and avoid half cooked food items especially, eggs, meat and fishes as they may elevate your risk of getting infections.

2.      Include fresh fruits and vegetables, 4-5 servings of fresh fruits rich in vitamins and include dairy products to suffice the need of calcium in the body, which is high during pregnancy.

Exercises

Exercises are good during pregnancy, however, be careful to see if you develop any discomfort during exercising or after that. Walking is the best exercise during pregnancy. However, take care that you do not dehydrate after exercising. Drink plenty of water to fulfill the body’s water requirement.

Sex

Sex is safe throughout the period of pregnancy unless otherwise recommended by your doctor. In a few cases, women lose their sex; partners need to be sensitive about what the woman goes through during this phase. While having sex, you need to be careful about the positions; being on top or lying on side is preferable position. However, during oral sex, ask your partner not to blow air into the vagina as it may risk the life of baby and also affect the mother.

Prompt care during pregnancy makes sure that the baby and the mother is healthy. Pregnancy care also ensures that this joyful period of pregnancy is made more comfortable and risk-free.
