There are many way to bond and do exciting activities with the whole family. Family vacations are great – but only on special occasions where everyone’s schedule will fit in the vacation. There’s also sports, and while they can be great, they may not be something you can hold regularly.
Family moments can become memorable even inside your own home – besides, where else could be perfect in creating lasting memories than in your home sweet home.
* While all over the world people participate in Earth Hour, some countries also made their Earth Hour specifically for kids – called the Earth Hour. For a full hour, kids are encouraged to turn of the lights, plug off all electricity, and have some fun without those video games. Some even say, its time to play with real kids and real friends!
* What else can the whole family do without electricity?
o Roasting marshmallows in the backyard is quite a treat.
o You can also share spooky stories for some good laugh and good scare.
o With an acoustic guitar, everyone can sing silly songs.
o Reading stories by candlelight can also bring good memories to everyone.
o Instead of surfing the net, why not go over and maybe even laugh over old pictures from mom’s photo album.
o And the best place to do all these may not literally indoor, but still within your house – camp out at the backyard or garage!
* Make it a Game Night
o Get those board games from the attic and have some rolling fun.
o If the little ones would opt for lego or jigsaw puzzles, then join in for the fun.
o You have the whole night to play so you can play one board game after another – you might be able to play everyone’s favorite.
o For added fun, have some ‘prizes’ available. Cheetos or donuts will do.
* Iron Chef at Home
o Cook your Sunday lunch together! Have someone cook the appetizer, the main course, side dish, and dessert!
o Everyone can cook either their favorite, or a dish that they’re familiar with and easy to make.
o Chances are, the children may even realize all the hard work that goes into every meal that they may not complain about the food later on.
* Charade and pictionary combined can be real fun! Have someone create a story and let others draw or act them out. It’s a great way to practice creativity and appreciation for the arts.
* Take some time to make home movies. Choose a director and have everyone act in the scenes. Watching them can create tons of laughter and candid memories.
These activities are simple, creative, and a lot of fun. You can even save on electricity! But most of all, you are able to create cherished moments with everyone in your family, and you can do it every single day if you want to. No special schedules, no extra cost, no extensive planning, no pre-game practice – only special moments made of laughter.
