Floral Art - Ideas and Uses

From times immemorial, floral art has been used to make jewelry, and patterns on clothing, and other linen. Floral designs have also added beauty to crockery and cutlery. Many of the jewelry pieces are inspired by floral designs existing in nature. Corals and jades are an excellent combination for such designs. Rubies and other precious and semi precious stones can also be used very effectively in floral designs. Golden and silver colored leaves, twigs, flower petals, fruits, and branches are also a quite popular form of floral art.

Clothes and linen often have floral prints, and different colors are used to make them more beautiful. Some of these prints may be small, while others might be larger in size. Suitable background color is used to emphasize the floral design. At times, the floral design may be because of the weave of the cloth or embossing on paper.

Crockery and terracotta pieces look exceptionally beautiful when adorned with floral designs. Sometimes floral designs are painted with hand on clothes and crockery. Clay pieces molded in the shape of flowers are also seen as home decor objects. Geometric designs mimicking the natural flowers have also been used to develop designs for floors, and ceilings of large open spaces, temples, churches, etc. Mosaic designs arranged in floral patterns are also part of this art.

One floral art form is the Japanese Ikebana. This art entails arranging flowers, leaves, and twigs in a way that makes the flowers look extraordinarily simple and beautiful. Paintings of flowers, and flower arrangements are another form of floral art. There are metal carvings as well, with flowers embossed and painted on them. Origami is another art from Japan in which paper or cloth is used to make exceptionally beautiful flowers. These look very good at functions, and conferences. Normally, though naturally found flowers may be used. These days, exceptionally beautiful artificial flowers made of synthetic cloth are available. These look almost as good as real flowers. Generally, these can also be used to decorate any function halls.

The designs that women stitch on their clothes and linen generally have flowers, leaves, fruits, and twigs. In olden days, women did a lot of tapestry works, many of which had floral designs. In modern times, there are embroidery kits available, complete with designs printed on the cloth, and threads of that need to be stitched as indicated.

Floral art includes bouquets for birthdays, marriages, funerals, etc. Artists not only paint flowers, but also dry naturally found flowers in such a way that they look equally good for many years. Such dried flowers are used to make greeting cards as well. But not everybody can dry the flowers in the way artist can. That is the art in any such paintings.
