Expat Tax Rules and Regulations

Those Americans living and working outside the jurisdictional limits of the United States are known as Expatriates or “Expats” for short.  Like any other US citizen and or permanent resident of the country, they are still subject to US income taxes and must file a tax return each year, although the April 15 deadline is usually extended for those individuals by several months.

Direct and indirect taxes

Governments collect taxes to pay for various expenses that they incur for the benefit of people. Both central government and state governments collect taxes. State governments collect taxes in various forms such as municipal tax, property tax, professional tax, road tax, and local sales tax. The central government or the federal government on the other hand collects taxes like excise duty, central sales tax, and income tax.
