The Teleporting Turtle's Travel Through Time
"Raaar!! Crash!" The fierce battle in the plains roared on. Sitting, watching, was a small creature, known today as the turtle. He shrunk himself into his shell, as he was scared of any impact from the battle. It was a great, big Tyrannosaurus Rex , engaged in combat with a brutal Brontosaurus. It appeared the T. Rex was winning, but just when he went to take a bite of his "dinner", the Brontosaurus scampered away. This continued for some time, with the small little turtle watching, waiting.
Suddenly, a scream pierced the night! The Brontosaurus had fallen. As the T. Rex swooped in to devour his prey, the turtle skittered up to the scene. There, he began to take steps, ever so slowly, up to the massive fallen dinosaur. Opening his mouth, the turtle took a bite. "Yum!" the turtle thought. "This stuff is good!" He began to take a few more bites, then ran away, before any fierce critters could get him.
As he headed away, he saw a little hole. Reluctantly, he dove, headfirst, in. "AAAIIIIEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!" The turtle screamed. This little hole was a lot bigger than he had expected. To get rid of the blurring walls behind him, the turtle closed his eyes. He dared not open them, for fear of becoming sick, until he reached the ground.
"SPLAT!" The turtle opened his eyes hastily, trying to get a glimpse of his surroundings. What he saw was strange. Around him were various fruits, and beyond that were sleek, modern appliances. Of course, the turtle did not know what any of this was. To him, it appeared as if he had teleported into the future, or something preposterous like that. Little did the turtle know that his idea was truer than he could have ever imagined.
Slowly, the turtle heaved himself over the fruits surrounding him, and plopped onto a little end table. From there, he shifted his way down to the wooden floor. "Gee, this is strange." The little turtle thought. He walked a little farther, until he felt the surface underneath him change texture. It was extremely soft.
After the turtle traversed through the ground floor of the building he was in, he saw a little stairway. Bracing himself, he tucked away his limbs into his shell, and rolled down.
With a loud plunk sound, the turtle reached the ground. First, his head emerged, and then his arms and legs, followed by his tail. Swiveling his head around, he saw a shape. "Could it be?" Thought the turtle."Is it really another turtle?"
All of a sudden, the shell had limbs emerge from it, for it was, indeed, another turtle. He had a small gray beard, a sign of age. "Greetings, young one." Murmured the turtle. "It is I, a turtle. I know what has happened to you. You have transported to the future."
The turtle stared in surprise.
"Young one," The old turtle said "If you would like to go back, you may. All I need to do is say the words."
"You know what? I kind of like it here." The young turtle exclaimed. "And I think I'm going to stay." With that, the turtle began his sloping ascent up the stairs, to live life in this strange world.
