As many as there are colors you can create from a basic palette, there are many careers as well where one can excel in graphic arts. Because of technology, graphic arts is not just limited to print but in other forms of media as well.

•    Creative Director – overall in charge and manages a team of artists preparing visual ads display for commercial or campaign purposes. He handles artists such as illustrators, photographers, and even copywriters.
•    Art Director – handles the major aspects and oversees progress in the project. He also has decision-making authority as to the use of the models, colors, props and other visual elements.  Apart from these, there are also administrative duties that the art director handles as he is in-charge of the whole project.
•    Art Production Manager – manages the process of the actual production including management of the cost, and the timeline set for the project. At times, the creative director or art director also assumes this responsibility to guarantee control over all areas of the project.
•    Brand identity developer – conceptualizes all visuals associated with the company and its image.  While there are creative teams handling all aspects of the production, the brand identity developer focuses on the branding and the image that the company shows through its visuals.
•    Logo Designer – working together with the marketing department of their company or customer, logo designers conceptualizes the company logo and searches newer and enhanced ways to represent the company logo and solidify their marketing position.
•    Interface Designer – uses GUI and other software technologies in creating visual contents. Because of the complexity and technical requirements of GUI, companies rely on specialists to handle all aspects in GUI development.
•    Web Designer – Web designers are in charge of the overall look and feel of the website, including color use and layout. They are not in-charge of the programming nor the technical aspects of converting and uploading and testing them however, but giving the websites its total look and feel is their primary function.  
•    Visual Journalist – translating information to graphics and pictures is the primary job of a visual journalist. Whether for news magazines, for books, or scientific journals, visual journalists capture the information and converts them to images that can easily be understood and appreciated.
•    Package Designer – for most household furniture and appliances, package designers create the images for the assembly instructions. In items like those sold in IKEA, instructions are drawn instead of just typed to be better understood and for the parts to really be visual. It is the package designer’s job to re-create the instructions that the readers can easily follow.  
These career options are available around the globe, and with that, competition is growing as well.  There are many choices as well when it comes to developing your skills through training. And when you get your break, your career development will be as limitless as your imagination and creativity.
