Article Directory List and Content Sharing Sites
Article directories and content sharing sites are continuing to rise in popularity as more and more people use them to promote their writing, build their reputations, and market their websites. There are usually diminishing returns in submitting your content to 100’s of sites and it is usually better to focus on a shorter list of high traffic article directories and content sharing sites.
Here is my article directory list and some of the content sharing sites that are popular for writers and website promoters.
Article Directories
- EzineArticles.com – Ezine Articles is definitely the top article directory and is a place that you need to submit your articles to if you are promoting yourself or your website. All articles are reviewed. Do not submit your article here if it is already syndicated on hundreds of other sites.
- Buzzle.com – Buzzle is another popular site for article submission and all articles are reviewed by humans. They only allow unique content and one link in the article.
- Isnare.com – Isnare is another site worth submitting to. They also have a service to distribute your articles to other article directories. People have mixed reviews about this service, however.
- ArticleBase.com – Article Base is another well trafficked site, but links are nofollowed by default.
- Here are a few more article sites with good traffic:
IdeaMarketers.com
ArticleDashboard.com
GoArticles.com
ArticleAlley.com
ArticleDashboard.com
Content Sharing Sites
There are some important differences to note between content sharing sites and article directories. The purpose of article directories is to syndicate content that other sites will pick up in exchange for a link back to your site. For content sharing sites, the purpose is more to share content with fellow writers and readers.
Rules for content sharing sites may vary, but generally, these sites are looking for quality unique content. Many will allow you to link back to your website, as long as it is a quality website.
- Dinosauric.com – Dinosauric allows users to submit articles and they actually help promote the articles for you. They also provide writing and marketing tips in the newsletter that you receive when you sign up.
- Hubpages.com – Hubpages is one of the most popular content sharing sites. They like unique content submissions on their site. Links are no followed until you achieve a certain “Hubscore”, which is based on the quality of your writing and contributions to the site.
- AssociatedContent.com – Associated content allows user contributed articles, but they do not allow links in your signature file since links are already on your profile.
- Squidoo.com – Squidoo is another very popular content sharing site. You can create other modules that link out to Amazon products and other blog entries.
